It depends on which sense of cloud computing you’re using, but:
* Amazon sells virtual servers (which is a cloud computing service)
* Google uses cloud computing
* Any overlay network is arguably cloud computing
* Folding@home is another example of cloud computing

Aside from having 24 ports, it’s just a vanilla unmanaged 10/100 switch, not even gigabit capable.
If I were looking to pre-wire a house for ethernet in every room, a huge multi-port switch would come in handy. Otherwise, I can’t imagine how I’d use it. And frankly, I’d go for gigabit today anyway. A 24-port gigabit switch goes for about $110 (http://www.provantage.com/tp-link-tl-sg1… and most people wouldn’t need 24 ports (I know I don’t — I run our entire ranch with a $70 16-port and have ports to spare).

It is a complete application for making files, and you don’t have to install anything at all, or store anything on your computer.

Google Docs and Google Maps can be said to be examples of cloud computing. Any time you use a software application that allows access from multiple locations, you are using a cloud application. .Also, you could make the case that email is the most basic of cloud applications.

Because someone came up with a way to do what we tried to get away from 30 years ago, and everyone fell for it. We worked for years to get computing distributed to individual computers, now everyone thinks it’s a great new thing to put everything back on servers, the way we *had to* do it in 1975. When you see “cloud computing”, think “suckers”.
